One of the hassles of
organizing a conference is setting up and maintaining a web site.
Recently the IEEE has started a service to make this easier. They
provide hosting for no charge for IEEE conferences. To use this:
-
Contact the IEEE
representative (currently k.n.luu@ieee.org ) to arrange a web location, a
user name, and a password.
-
Copy any existing web pages to your local machine
(recommend using wget
-r on a linux machine)
-
Modify links to account for different host
locations. We
recommend making all links relative to the home page, so any further
hosting changes are transparent.
-
Copy pages to the IEEE host, using the directory, user
name, and
password supplied in step 1.
-
Go to your domain name registrar, and change the
registration to point
to the IEEE host (for example, we redirect www.cande.net to
http://ewh.ieee.org/cmte/cande )
