Paper AwardsThe Image and Multidimensional Digital Signal Processing (IMDSP) Technical Committee (TC) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) hereby solicits nominations for the above awards from the general membership of the SPS as well as from non-members. For the 2006 awards, nominations should be sent by May 15, 2006, to the chairman of the IMDSP TC awards subcommittee, Vivek Goyal (vgoyal@mit.edu), using the appropriate nomination form. Lists of previous winners as well as more information about the awards can be found at the Signal Processing Society Awards page. Descriptions of the AwardsBest Paper AwardThe Best Paper Award honors the author(s) of a paper of exceptional merit dealing
with a subject related to the Society's technical scope, and appearing in one of
the Society's Transactions, irrespective of the author's age. The prize shall be
$500 per author (up to a maximum of $1500 per award) and a certificate. In the event
that there are more than three authors, the maximum prize shall be divided equally
among all authors and each shall receive a certificate. Young Author Best Paper AwardThe Young Author Best Paper Award honors the author(s) of an especially meritorious
paper dealing with a subject related to the Society's technical scope and appearing
in one of the Society's Transactions and who, upon the date of submission of the
paper, is less than 30 years of age. The prize shall consist of $500 per author
(up to a maximum of $1500 per award) and a certificate. Signal Processing Society Magazine AwardThe Signal Processing Society Magazine Award shall honor the author(s) of a paper
of exceptional merit and broad interest on a subject related to the Society's technical
scope and appearing in the Society's magazine. The prize shall consist of $500 per
author (up to a maximum of $1500 per award) and a certificate. In the event that
there are more than three authors, the maximum prize shall be divided equally among
all authors and each shall receive a certificate. |
