bio:

Ivana Kockar received her M.Eng and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, Montreal, Canada. She spent a year at University of Manchester, UK, and then joined Brunel University. Currently, she is with the Institute of Energy and Environment, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. In addition, she spent 4 years in industry.

Her research interests include power system operation and planning, economics of energy systems, market modelling, as well as implications of environmental issues and demand side management on system operation and planning.

  bio:

  Chan-Nan Lu is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering an Dean of College of Engineering at National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Prior to joining NSYSU in 1989, he worked for General Electric Company and Harris Corp. on the development of advanced application software for utility control centers. He obtained his BS degree from National Taiwan University, MS degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his PhD from Purdue University. During his career, he has worked on subjects on optimal power flow, state estimation, large network modeling, distribution load flow, special protection scheme and power quality.
