Subcommittee Reports
Reliability, Risk and Probability SC
Cliff Grigg reported that Risks and Reliability subcommittee has three active task forces: distribution system reliability (Bob Fletcher), revision of the standards 762 to development reliability test systems and reporting outage data for generating system units (Andy Ford) and probabilistic aspects of power quality (frequency and impact, starting task force). He also mentioned that panel and tutorial sessions will be organized for the Toronto meeting.
Distribution System Analysis SC
Sando reported that the attendance of the distribution system subcommittee meeting was 10. A task force is formed to handle distributed generation models for feeder analysis (Roger Dugan). Sando will contact T&D Working Groups and Task Forces to seek collaboration.
System Economics SC
Ross Baldick reported that the attendance of panel sessions at SM 2002 was about 60-80. The paper session was attended by about 60. One proposal for panel session at the Toronto meeting will be on market monitoring. The other panel will be on market design. Other efforts include a new task force on market and standardization of terms.
Intelligent Systems SC
Kevin Tomsovic reported that panel sessions organized by intelligent system applications subcommittee were well attended. In Toronto, 2 panel sessions are planed. It is decided to repeat the generation expansion panel in combination with the subcommittee meeting. A task force is being formed on data analysis. The tutorial on heuristic optimization will be repeated.
Computer and Analytical Methods SC
Joann Staron reported for Edwin Liu on CAMS subcommittee. A special technical session organized for SM 2002 was not listed in the program. Inconsistent information was provided. A total of 10 papers were accepted and 2 paper and 2 panel sessions were organized for SM 2002. It is observed that the number of conference papers is down from before.
Respectfully Submitted,
