Scope

The overall goal of the task force is to advance the state-of-the-art research and education in the emerging area of cyber security for electric power systems through a coordinated effort among academic and industry researchers, practicing engineers, and government representatives. The following are the specific themes:

Theme 1: Cyber physical systems - modelling, algorithms and analysis

  • Methodology for integrated modelling of cyber events and their impacts

  • Identifying relevant models, algorithms and analytical techniques

  • Risk modelling capturing social as well as system impacts due to cyber events

Members: Manimaran Govindarasu, Bruce McMillan, Pete Sauer, Chen-Ching Liu, Nouredine Hadjsaid, Jason Stamp and Andrew West

Theme 2: An integrated taxonomy of faults and attacks on SCADA control systems

  • Fault taxonomy

  • Cyber attack taxonomy

  • Realistic scenarios

  • Prioritize the events based on severity, likelihood, etc.

Members: Giovanna Dandossola, Frances Cleveland, Stan Klein, Jeff Dagle, Salman Mohagheghi, Stan Johnson, Doug Houseman, Russ Robinson, Paul Robinson, Paul Skare, Mathias Ekstedt and Bobby Brown

Theme 3: Education/Outreach on cyber security for SCADA systems

Members: Chen-Ching Liu, Pete Sauer, Gary Taylor, Joseph Bucciero, Scott Mix, Reza Ebrahimian, Markus Braendle, Charles Newton and Manimaran Govindarasu
