Scope

• Promote awareness among PES members of the use of the Common Information Model (CIM) standard in modeling power system and enterprise wide information modeling

• Liaise with other IEEE Task Forces/Working Groups:

  • Inform PES members on the latest CIM development activities

  • Inform PES members on the outstanding issues of CIM standard

  • Inform PES members on the status of CIM Interoperability tests

• Gather Information on the challenges of power system modeling (transmission, distribution, generation and market) using CIM standard from PES members

• Gather Information on the challenges of power system modeling in Operations planning (in areas such as electrical transients, power quality, etc) using CIM standard from PES members

• Gather CIM modeling issues and CIM extensions from PES members world wide and encourage them to submit the extensions to the IEC standards committee via the CIM Users Group

• Work closely with the CIM users group, IEC and the EPRI sponsored Interoperability test organizers to provide feedback from PES
