The 2011 Electrical Insulation Conference (EIC) will be held from Sunday, June 5th to Wednesday, June 8th at the Lowe Annapolis Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland, USA.
The conference is co-sponsored by IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS) and National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).
The detailed technical program is now complete, including the time of the various technical programs and events. Please see the Technical Program as well as the Program at a Glance hyperlinks shown to the left. We have short courses on Sunday, Opening Plenary Presentation on Sunday evening, as well as a reception and Poster Session Sunday evening. Then we move into three parallel technical sessions on Monday through Wednesday noon. Exhibits will be open on Monday and Tuesday from 11:30 to 2pm with a boxed lunch provided. Finally IEEE Materials Subcommittee will be having various working group meetings from Wednesday 1pm until Thursday 7pm.
On behalf of the DEIS and NEMA conference committee and board, we invite you to attend the 2011 EIC. We look forward to seeing you in Annapolis. Please contact us if you have questions.

EIC 2011 General Conference Chair
Who attends the EIC?
|
Many of the attendees at the EIC are manufacturers of high voltage equipment, such as insulators, power cables, instrument transformers, power transformers, switchgear, motors and generators. These manufacturers need to meet the suppliers and producers of electrical insulating materials and insulation test equipment and instrumentation. In addition, a significant percentage of EIC attendees are from high voltage equipment operators, such as electric utilities, and industries such as pulp and paper mills and petrochemical plants. These end-users need to know about insulating materials for repairs, test equipment and diagnostic instrumentation for condition-based maintenance as well as the services of insulation system test providers. The typical attendee at the EIC usually has the authority to specify vendors. See events from EIC 2009: |
Who are the EIC Sponsors?
|
Since the first EIC in 1958, the EIC has been jointly sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). The IEEE is the world’s largest technical society with over 360,000 members. NEMA represents the interests of most of the principal electrical equipment manufacturers and related material suppliers in the USA. |
