It is our pleasure to announce the organization of the first Joint Meeting and Conference of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Human Performance / Root Cause / Trending / Operating Experience / and Self Assessment (HPRCT). This will serve as the IEEE 8th Conference on Human Factors and Power Plants and the HPRCT 13th Annual Meeting.

The conference will be held in Monterey, California, August 26-31, 2007.

Following a number of successful meetings in the past, the IEEE and HPRCT are conducting a joint conference that will:

• provide an expanded list of technical offerings to meeting attendees,
• provide greater exposure to current activities being carried out in the areas of human factors, human reliability,
• and human performance management and improvement, offer more training opportunities, and enable more networking with
• colleagues and contact development opportunities.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company and the staff at the Diablo Canyon Power Plant are teamed with the conference organizers to support this conference. Together, we will provide meeting attendees with an outstanding technical venue and the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the California coastal area.
