Nelson Kagan received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineer from the University of London, UK, in 1993. He is a Full Professor at University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, where he lectures since 1983. His main interests are mostly concerned to power quality, electric power distribution networks, intelligent systems and smart grids. He coordinates the Center for Regulation and Power Quality Studies in the University since its foundation in 2000.
