Editor's Note 2008:

The 2008 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS) was held in the Beijing International Convention Center (BICC), Beijing, China, from November 2-5, 2008. This marked the first time that the IEEE IUS was hosted in China.

There were 674 abstracts accepted for presentation at the 2008 IEEE IUS and authors of these abstracts are eligible to submit full papers to the conference proceedings. This year, we have published 553 papers. In addition, we have for the first time included multimedia papers in the IEEE IUS proceedings. To have an overview of the conference, please take a look at the “Conference Statistics”.

To all the authors and the organizing committee, especially, Dr. Jian-yu Lu, the General Chair of the conference, THANK YOU, for making this conference proceedings a strong representation of a successful conference.
