P2A025-03. An Improved Method for Estimating the Blood Flow Velocity Vector Using Aperture Domain Data

Most conventional blood flow estimation methods measure only the axial component of the blood velocity vector. In our study, we developed a method for two-dimensional blood velocity vector estimation in which, first, similar to reference[1], a function from the time shifts to the channel positions is constructed, and then different from method in paper, the function is transformed into an overdetermined system of linear equations in the two variables of the axial and lateral components, and an approximate solution is found using the method of least squares. Since no unnecessary approximation is employed, our method has a higher accuracy than reference [1].
