P2I089-05. Love Wave Propagating in Functionally Graded Magneto-Electro-Elastic Material Structure

An exact approach is used to investigate Love waves in functionally graded magneto-electro-elastic material layer bonded to a semi-infinite homogeneous substrate. The piezoelectricity is polarized in z-axis direction and the material properties change gradually with the thickness of the layer. We here assume that all material coefficients of the graded magneto-electro-elastic layer have the same exponential function distribution along the x-axis direction. The analytical solution of dispersion relations are obtained. The effects of the gradient variation about material constants on the phase velocity, the group velocity, the coupled magneto-electromechanical factor are discussed in detail.
