In 2008, PIMRC will be organised for the 19th time. During the years, the annual event has received world-wide attention and acclaim, as can be gathered from its long history. It has become one of IEEE ComSoc's flagship conferences in the field of communications. The local engineer society SEE and the IEEE are proud to host PIMRC from 15-18 September 2008 at the Palais de Festivals, Cannes, France. More than 900 paper submissions from 50 countries are expected to arrive by the submission deadline in March 2008.
PIMRC'08 is a meeting ground for specialists contributing to "Sensing the Future" - the theme of the conference. Leading experts from industry, academia and regulatory bodies all have their share in making the event a truly quality one. On the other hand, PIMRC also offers a wonderful opportunity for young researchers to present and participate in an international forum. A number of measures - ranging from keynotes, panels, workshops, etc - will be taken in the planning process in order to further increase the exchange of information between participating specialists.
The programme for PIMRC'08 will be built from elements that allow participants from academia, industry and other types of organisations to select paths that interest them most. Programme elements include, among others, tutorials of high quality and panel discussions based on emerging and sometimes controversial topics. The exchange of information will be stressed in the presentation of key research activities in different parts of the world. Also, the latest regulatory achievements will be discussed in technical sessions.
France is known for its cuisine, cheese and wines. She offers an excellent lifestyle even to the bypassing visitor. Cannes easily equals its reputation - it is a very special place in the midst of the French Riviera and one of the most charming places on this planet.
We, as the organisers of PIMRC 2008, are sure you will truly enjoy this conference and wish you a memorable stay! General Chairs Technical Chairs Organizing Chairs
