Dilip B. Kotak (Canada)

Dilip B. Kotak is an Adjunct Professor of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University and Program Manager for Intelligent Robotics Corporation in British Columbia, Canada. He has 40 years of industrial experience including Principal Research Officer and Group Leader at the National Research Council of Canada in Vancouver, Planning Manager of Operations in the wood products industry, and Senior Project Manager in systems consulting. He has implemented and managed projects involving modeling, simulation and optimization in wood products manufacturing, coal and grain transportation, airport runway design, hydrogen fuelling stations and renewable energy systems. His present research interests include the optimization of the design and operations of distributed intelligence systems and the application of RFID technology in the security, manufacturing and service industries. During his career he has received a number of R&D grants, published over 75 technical papers, contributed to book chapters and participated as an invited speaker at major international conferences.  He is an IEEE Senior Member, co-chair of the SMC Society’s Technical Committee on Distributed Intelligent Systems, a member of the SMC Board of Governors, and past Treasurer of the SMC Society.
