Piazza IV Novembre

The Piazza IV Novembre (4th of November Square) is the main square of Perugia. Located in the city center, it is the crossing point of five historical roads, including Corso Vannucci. Two important buildings on opposite sides of the Piazza are the Palazzo dei Priori and the Duomo of Perugia. Usually, this square is the nightly meeting point of students and young people of all countries.

 

Fontana Maggiore

The Fontana Maggiore (Main Fountain), located in the middle of Piazza IV Novembre, is one of the main symbols of the town. The fountain was completed by the sculptors Nicola and Giovanni Pisano in 1278 at the arrival point of the Monte Pacciano aqueduct. The Fontana Maggiore is made up of two polygonal basins in white and pink stone, surmounted by a bronze basin.
