IEEE CIIP 2009

2009 IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence for Image Processing

The annual IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Image Processing (CIIP 2009) aims to bring together engineers, scientists and students from around the world to discuss the latest advances in the field of computational intelligence applied to issues in image processing.

Topics covered include applications of computational intelligence technologies, including neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary computation, and other emerging techniques in the following or similar areas:

• Image Coding, Compression and Transmission
• Image Representation and Description
• Image Formation
• Image Segmentation
• Image Scanning, Printing, Display and Color
• Image Filtering, Enhancement and Restoration
• Image Storage, Recognition, Interpretation, Retrieval, and Multimedia
• Industrial and Medical Image Processing Applications
• Reconstruction and Analysis

Call for Special Sessions:
CIIP 2009 also solicits proposals for special sessions with the technical scope of the symposium, generally focusing on a special hot topic. Papers submitted to special sessions are to be peer-reviewed with the same criteria used for the contributed papers. Researchers interested in organizing a special session are invited to submit a proposal to the Program Co-Chair Hamid R. Tizhoosh tizhoosh@uwaterloo.ca. Special session proposal should include the session title, a brief description of the scope, a list of potential authors that might submit papers to the special session, and brief bios of the special session organizers.
