IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence 2009

Registration for the IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (IEEE-SSCI) 2009 is now open at: icm3.ieee.org/eventmanager/onlineregistration.asp?eventcode=wic

Registration deadline to cover publication of accepted papers in the proceedings is 15 January 2009.

All conference registration fees (namely: IEEE Member, Non IEEE Member, Student, IEEE Life Member) include admission to all technical sessions, admission to tutorials, coffee breaks, lunches, banquet, and one copy of the DVD proceedings.

For discounted student registration, a proof of current full-time student status is required (i.e., a copy of student card or certification from University).

No printed proceedings will be produced.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: An accepted paper will be published in the proceedings only if the final version is accompanied by the registration and payment information for at least one of the authors (only full registration fees – IEEE Member or Non IEEE Member fees – will be allowed for this purpose). One full registration fee will cover the publication of up to two accepted papers in any of the IEEE SSCI 2009 symposia/workshops. Each additionally accepted paper associated with the same registration is subject to the mandatory publication fee. No exception.

Administrative Charge

There will be a 50 US$ fee assessed for returned checks or for chargeback issued on valid credit card charges.

Refund policy

- The registration fee will not be refunded if it is required to cover the publication expenses of accepted papers.

- Additional lunch tickets, additional banquet tickets, and additional DVD proceedings will not be refunded after 16 March 2009.

- Unused lunch and banquet tickets will be neither refunded nor exchanged with other tickets or services.

- A registration processing fee of 100 US$ will be charged if the refund request will be received before or on 16 March 2009.

- No refund will be honored if requested after 16 March 2009.

Travel Grants Information

The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Travel Grants Program offers a limited number of travel grants to assist IEEE CIS student members and members from developing countries for presenting papers at IEEE CID-sponsored conference. The applications must have both IEEE and IEEE CIS memberships. Past history of the IEEE CIS travel grants, as well as more information, can be viewed at the travel grants webpage www.ieee-cis.org/edu/travel.

To apply for the support one must first register in the Grant Application System at www.ieee-cis.org/gas. Submissions are to be entered into the Grant Application system. No paper application needs to be sent to the Chair. Please note the following date for submission, review, and notification of travel grants:

• Submission of applications: December 15, 2008 - February 2, 2009

• Review of applications: February 3, 2009 - February 15, 2009

• Notification of acceptance: February 16, 2009

Only complete applications from eligible student members and members will be accepted. Please, note that there is no need to send proof of IEEE and IEEE CIS membership as membership will be verified through the IEEE member databases. Decisions are expected to be announced by February 16, 2009.

The student applicants will be required to present proof of university attendance documentation at the conference (this is not a student card; please see the website for details).
