This talk will explore some of the cutting-edge legal issues facing Internet companies.? In particular, the talk will address the interactions between lawyers, engineers and the marketing department when developing Internet offerings.? Several examples will be cited.? In particular, we will look closely at the recent litigation over Cablevision’s “DVR-as-a-service.”? A recent appellate court decision ruled that the service, called Remote Storage Digital Video Recorder (RS-DVR), is legally permissible in part due to some unusual product design choices.
A Q&A session will follow the talk, with ample opportunity to dig deeper.
