Deutsche Telekom (DT) will brief our group on their latest SIlicon Valley activities.? Louis Schreier, VP of /T-Labs Division will? will provide an outline of DT’s current mission in the U.S. and describe several important activities they are engaged in.? Three DT partners â?? Mozilla, Nicira Networks, and UC Berkeleyâ??s Seismological Laboratory â?? will? briefly talk about their collaborative projects with DT.
DT is one of the more innovative Network Operators whose interests and businesses go beyond developing core telecommunication capabilities and providing network connectivity.? DT also provides business and consumer applications and services spanning: cloud, music and media, classifieds, payment, and advertising among other offerings across Germany and Europe and, in addition, maintains R&D facilities in Germany, Israel, and the U.S.
Deutsche Telekom has a long history in Silicon Valley that includes Venture, Business Development, and Research and Development.? DTâ??s U.S. University R&D program, which began three years ago with the establishment of the Los Altos Labs, successfully developed academic relationships with universities both in the Bay Area as well as with universities outside of California.
Beginning in 2011, DT has extended its activities in Silicon Valley to include strategic development, integration and collaboration with startups and VCs through its own networks, and through partnerships with local entrepreneurs.
