In a recent press release, the California Air Resources Board charted a course to reduce California‘s greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent over the next 12 years. ? The draft plan proposes that utilities produce a third of their energy from renewable sources such as wind, solar and geothermal.

To discuss how California and the rest of the world can offset greenhouse gas emissions using electricity generated from solar radiation, we have invited Mr. Bob Stuart to be our guest speaker. Our distinguished speaker brings several years of experience of working with electric utilities as well as solar developers.

Mr. Stuart is currently the senior director of Transmission at BrightSource Energy. Brightsource is a solar thermal generation company headquartered in Oakland. ? Throughout his career Mr. Stuart has been an innovator and has successfully championed several initiatives in the industry.? Prior to joining Brightsource, Mr. Stuart worked for Nexant,? Elequant, and PG&E where he was known for his technical expertise in areas of transmission system operation and system protection.
