The discussion will describe how UWB technology and the standard has evolved since the FCC ruling permitting this technology. Key technical aspects of the standard will be covered along with the state of the UWB industry, current and future applications and worldwide regulatory status. There will also be a demonstration of some typical user scenarios.

Serdar Yurdakul manages the marketing and business development activities of Wisair in the US, representing Wisair in various industry and standards activities. As a Silicon Valley veteran, Serdar has been working on communications and mobile computing products close to two decades. Prior to Wisair, he was the VP of business development at OpenGrid, a wireless communications and services company and at Mobilygen, a multimedia and communication start-up. At DSP Group, Serdar launched the companyĆ¢??s Computer Telephony product line and helped develop computer telephony chips. Serdar spent time at AT&T Microelectronics in the early 1990s working on first generation mobile devices and mobile communications. Prior to AT&T he was in engineering and engineering management at Everex, developing communication devices for the nascent PC industry. Serdar holds an MSEE degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey and an MBA degree from Golden Gate University, San Francisco.
