CEDIA is the Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association. This presentation will be on what a real digital home is like and how they work, sometimes with a million dollars of electronic equipment, followed by a tour of HP’s demo home.

You have probably heard of the term â??Digital Home???.? It makes one think of all kinds of fancy home automation and home theater gadgets.? But, does anyone actually have these things?? ? Well, yes – some home owners in the Bay Area have spent more than a million dollars on electronics for the home.? This monthâ??s speaker will be from a company that designs and installs these electronic systems for homes throughout the valley â?? cyberManor.? Gordon van Zuiden is the President of cyberManor, and he is an award winning designer.? He is also on the board of CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association), an organization dedicated to the Digital Home.? He is also an author and an instructor in the field.
cyberManor was recently chosen by Hewlett Packard to design and install the electronics in their demonstration Digital Home.? Gordon has agreed to show us this home at this monthâ??s IEEE CES talk.? ? Be prepared to see things that you canâ??t get at Fryâ??s.

Gordon van Zuiden is the Founder and President of cyberManor. Gordon founded cyberManor in the summer of 1999, one of the nationâ??s first custom electronic integrators to focus on IP based technologies for the home. Mr. van Zuiden currently serves on CEDIAâ??s Board of Directors and was the co-Dean of CEDIA’s Electronic Systems Design Track for 3 years. He is also a monthly columnist on home networking topics for Residential Systems and Electronics House magazines. Mr. van Zuiden graduated with a BSME from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLAâ??s business school.
