Accomplishments

WIE and GOLD held a joint meeting on October 20th at MIT Lincoln Labs which featured HR Manager David Gentes who gave great tips related to resumes and the overall job search. He went over his "Gospel according to Gentes" - ten very important points. Following his talk, nine HR and Engineering Leaders reviewed resumes one at a time, spending approximately 10-15 minutes on each person. The meeting was attended by 35 people and there was a lot of great energy in the room. Below is a picture of the resume review session. WIE and the education sociaty at Tufts University held a dinner meeting featuring Professor Nan Langowitz from the Babson Univeristy Center for Womens' leadership who led a talk on "Managing Your Own Professional Development".

Joint meeting held with the reliability Society at Teradyne in North Reading, featuring speaker Leslie Gabriele who presented "Everything You ever Wanted to Know about Headhunters but were Afraid to Ask".

WIE Boston Chair Denise Griffen gave a WIE overview during the Region 1 Student Conference at Boston University. A few new students signed up to join WIE during this meeting.

Boston WIE held a joint meeting with C-NET at Microsoft Corporation in Waltham featuring networking guru Barbara Bix from BB Marketing Plus who led us through a workshop on "Networking Practice".
