Upcoming Events

One of our priorities is to organize Learning Work-shops and Social events for the Chapter. We plan to undertake such activities through distinguished talks, Chapter collaborations, attending other local events and member participation. Please send us your ideas on the kind of talks, learning sessions or social gatherings you will like to see us organizing. Richard Stallman will speak about the Free Software Movement, which campaigns for freedom so that computer users can cooperate to control their own computing activities. The Free Software Movement developed the GNU operating system, specifically to establish these freedoms. The lecture will be held on Tuesday June 17 at 7:00 PM at the McCook Auditorium at Trinity College in Hartford. More Details about the lecture can be found here and at www.hfoss.org

The Connecticut Joint Chapters of the IEEE Computer Society, Microwave Theory & Techniques Society, Antenna & Propagation, Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control Society , Women in Engineering Society and IEEE Student Branch at UCONN are presenting a lecture on Sensor Networks, Wireless Sensors and MacroProgramming. Prof. Matt Welsh from the Department of Computer Science, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University will be delivering this lecture on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 7:00 PM at University of Connecticut, Storrs Campus.
