These 2 courses were prepared by Dr. Robert M. O'Donnell, a recently retired member of the senior staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory.

1. Introduction to Radar Systems

An introductory course for those students or professionals, peripherally involved in radar technology, e.g. lawyers dealing with radar patent issues, community college students, or technical support persons working with radars systems, either in their development, manufacture or operations

This set of 10 lectures (about 11+ hours in duration, ~600 viewgraphs) is excerpted from a three-day course developed at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, before the lecturer retired, to provide an understanding of radar systems concepts and technologies to military officers and DoD civilians involved in radar systems development, acquisition, and related fields. This set of lectures is designed to instill a basic working knowledge of radar systems. Take the free course at: Introduction to Radar Systems Engineering

2. Radar Systems (1st Year Graduate Course)

This Radar Systems Course (video, audio and screen captured Power Point slides, and separate PDF slides) has been developed, after the lecturer retired, as a first course in Radar Systems for first year graduate students or professionals new to radar. In the 19 lectures (about 29+ hours in duration) there are over 1300 slides.

This course is available at:

The opportunity to enroll in these radar courses for transferable university / community college credit, in an interactive, distance learning environment is being developed. If you would like to be one of 5 or 6 persons involved in the course beta testing over the summer, email Bob O'Donnell.
