Welcome!

The Western New York Chapter of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society was established in 2007 to serve GRSS members and the general public interested in geoscience and remote sensing in the western New York (USA) region and beyond. See the article about our initial activities in the Chapter's Corner of the December 2007 GRSS Newsletter. Please contact Chapter Chair John Kerekes if you would like more information or are interested in presenting a technical seminar at one of our chapter meetings. Our meetings are open to the general public; you do not need to be a member of IEEE/GRSS to present or attend.

The Chapter is joint across five IEEE Region 1 Sections: Rochester (parent), Buffalo, Syracuse, Ithaca and Binghamton. Monthly meetings with technical presentations are held throughout the academic year rotating among various locations across the sections.

IGARSS'08 Technical Program is posted and registration is now open!

The 2008 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium will be held July 6-11, 2008, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The technical program has now been set and is available on the web site. Also, online registration is open and includes descriptions of the various technical, GRS Society, and social events availble. Please visit the symposium web site www.igarss08.org for more information.

7th Annual CNY ASPRS New York State Remote Sensing Symposium, SUNY ESF, Syracuse, NY

The GRSS WNY Chapter is pleased to be a co-sponsor of the 7th Annual ASPRS Central New York Region's New York State Remote Sensing Symposium. This one-day event on May 19, 2008 includes a workshop on Land Use/Land Cover, technical sessions, and a dinner with Kass Green, ASPRS President-Elect. Please visit the symposium web site for more information.
