Initiatives

Thanks to our member Dru Reynolds and the active participation of our members, we have been able to set up a series of events.


* Girls Scout at Angelo L. Tomaso School, Warren, NJ, on June 8th, 2010.
We take care of the younger girls. Our member Filomena Citarella has organized a couple of hours of hands-on experiments for a group of twelve 10-years-old girls scout in Warren, NJ.


* Career Day at Asbury Park High School on May 24th, 2010.
Our group went to Asbury Park High School, where seven professionals presented and worked with the students during the whole morning. Many thanks to all the volunteers, the students and the school are very grateful.


* Career Day at Neptune High School on March 24th, 2010.
Our group goes back to Neptune High School with an even larger program.
Over 200 students will rotate through 24 sessions, where they will learn with practical examples the engineering profession. Pictures ...


* Shadow Program at Neptune High School Spring, during the months of February and March, 2010.
High School students are hosted at different companies and learn what it means to be an engineer. Members of our group host the students.


* Career Day at Neptune High School on December 2nd, 2009.
Our group organized a career day at Neptune High School with learning and experimenting sessions for the high school students, to engage them in the engineering profession. Over 170 students participated in the 12 sessions.

* Shadow Program at Neptune High School Fall, during the months of October and November, 2009.
High School students were hosted at different companies and learned what it means to be an engineer. Members of our group hosted students. To illustrate the impact of the program, a student report can be found here.


* Tour Forth Monmounth on October 7th, 2009, organized by our memeber Cindy Poon.
About 30 students from Neptune High School toured the labs at Fort Monmouth, learning the latest technologies used by the Army. Pictures ...
