Minutes June 2010

We were small group on a conference call.
We reviewed our activities and continued discussion on activities for professional development. We decided, we will start with a survey to get to know the interests and motivations of our memebers.

Minutes May 2010

This was our celebration dinner. We met at Cindy's restaurant Koo.
We reviewed our activities with Neptune High School and the upcoming event organized by Dru at Asbury Park. We had a great time. We should be all proud of our achievement.

Celebration 2010

Here are pictures of the March 24th Event at Neptune high School.

Minutes March 2010

We were a small group, but we had an interesting discussion.
We reviewed our activities with Neptune High School. Dru is organizing the March 24th event, she is a little bit behind in the organization, and she will get back to us on Monday March 8th with the details. If she does not have enough speakers, she will change the date for April.
Filomena Citarelli called in and she explained us about an activity that she is organizing withe her daughter's girl scout (8-10 years old) to involve the girls in engineering. She was thinking on taking the lead on starting activities targeted to that age-group.
Finally, we spoke about career development, Paula introduced the workshop "Women in Science & Technology Workforce Summit" on Friday May 21, 2010 from 8:30 - 4:00PM at The Conference Center at Mercer, West Windsor, NJ. It would be nice if some of us can participate.

Minutes February 2010

We had a very interesting discussion with Cindy, Nisa, Dru, Lisa and Paula. We talked about the possibilities to organize an activity targeted to Women Engineers wanting to rejoin the workforce, and/or college students ready to enter the workforce, or women looking to change their current jobs. (Of course we always welcome men in our activities). This activity will have as counterpart target larger organizations such as Verizon, AT&T, Alcatel-Lucent, Siemens, Merck, etc. The goal is to bring together these two targets. For one, give the opportunity to these organizations to explain their hiring plans, where they are having difficulties finding qualified professionals, and for the other, give the opportunity for the people looking for jobs reflect on their skills and how they can fulfill these hiring challenges.
Finally we want to thanks Cindy for surprising us with a delicious sushi from her restaurant Koo.

Minutes January 2010

Our main topic of discussion was in evaluating our first Career Day.
The responses from the students and from the school was fantastic. however, we identifed some issues to consider moving forward, specially in order to evaluate the outcomes of these types of efforts.

The following is a snapshot from the event.
