Welcome!
The Western New York Chapter of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society
was established in 2007 to serve GRSS members and the general public interested
in geoscience and remote sensing in the western New York (USA) region and beyond.
See the article about our initial activities in the Chapter's Corner of the December 2007
GRSS Newsletter. Please contact the Chapter Chair or your local Section Coordinator
if you would like more information or are interested in presenting
a technical seminar at one of our chapter meetings. Our meetings are open to the general
public; you do not need to be a member of IEEE/GRSS to present or attend.
The Chapter is joint across five IEEE Region 1 Sections: Rochester (parent), Buffalo, Syracuse, Ithaca and Binghamton. Monthly meetings with technical presentations are held throughout the academic year rotating among various locations across the sections.
Chapter Vice-Chair: Anthony Vodacek, Rochester Institute of Technology
Chapter Secretary: John Kerekes, Rochester Institute of Technology
Buffalo Section Coordinator: Bea Csatho, University at Buffalo
Ithaca Section Coordinator: Bill Philpot, Cornell University
Syracuse Section Coordinator: Jay Kyoon Lee, Syracuse University
Binghamton Section Coordinator: Open
