Welcome to the Bangalore Chapter of IEEE Communications Society

IEEE Communications Society Bangalore Chapter
one-day workshop on
Wireless and Optical Networks
30 May 2009
Venue: ECE Dept, Indian Institute of Science
Timing: 9.30 am – 5.30pm (6 hours, with breaks)
Speakers: Dr. Rahul Sinha (wireless) and Dr. T Srinivas (optical)
Purpose of the Workshop
Networking is the current paradigm in communications. Wireless and Optical Networks are changing the communications world. The purpose of the workshop is to provide a balance between basic introduction and current developments. This is the first technical workshop of IEEE ComSoc Bangalore Chapter formed recently. One of the purpose of the workshop is to estimate the technical pulse of our members so that more specialised workshops can be organized. So a wide range of topics in wireless and optical networks will be covered at an intermediate level.
Topics
Wireless communications and Wireless networks
Cross layer design approach
Network coding
QoS and Resource Allocation
Service Provision based on Game Theory
Optical Communications and Fiber Optic networks
DWDM Netowrks
Optical Network management
.Optical Burst switched networks
Fiber optic CDMA networks
Registration
Registration fee is Rs. 1000/- per participant, which includes, kit/e-notes, lunch/tea. 50% off to students, further 20% off to IEEE members.
