IEEE China VT Chapter is technically co-sponsoring the 2005 International Workshop on Sequence Design and Its Applications in Communications (IWSDA'05), to be held from October 10 to 14, 2005, at Shimonoseki convention center in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi, Japan. Professor Pingzhi Fan serves as the general co-chair of IWSDA'05.

IEEE China VT Chapter, in collaboration with the Southwest Jiaotong University, Sichuan Computer Federation, Sichuan Institute of Electronics, Sichuan Institute of Communications, is involved with the organization of the 2005 Symposium on Information, Electronics, and Control Technologies (IECT¡¯ 2005), to be held on September 29, 2005, at Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China.

Official IEEE China VT chapter website "http://ewh.ieee.org/r10/beijing/vts" is established, and the related website http://ewh.ieee.org/ecc/r10/ is also updated with the appropriate link to our chapter site, with the help of  Khanh Luu, the IEEE Entity Web Hosting (EWH) webmaster.

The formation of IEEE China Vehicular Technology Chapter (IEEE China VT Chapter or IEEE CVTC, for short), a subunit of IEEE Beijing Section and IEEE VT Society, is officially approved by IEEE headquarter on March 25, 2005. The founding chair of this chapter is Professor Pingzhi Fan (Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China, email: p.fan@ieee.org). 

An IEEE Chapter is a technical subunit of one or more Sections, or a Council, constituted by a minimum of twelve (12) members of a Society and established by petition to the parent unit(s) and Societies concerned to represent and fulfil the technical needs of the members and the missions of IEEE. 

It is the aim of the chapter to motivate members and volunteers to organize and participate events such as meetings, seminars, conferences and community work in China and world-wide. The chapter executive committee will work  together to satisfy IEEE regulations and maintain ¡°active¡± status.
