The IEEE WIE Affinity
Group of Calcutta Section was formed on July 28, 2006
with Dr. Iti Saha Misra as the interim Chair. After
that on September 01, 2006 it was formally inaugurated
by Prof. Salil K. Sanyal, Chairman, IEEE Calcutta
Section in a lively inauguration ceremony. Subsequently
the Executive Committee was constituted in its Annual
General Meeting on January 18, 2007 with Dr.Iti Saha
Misra as the Chair.

One Day Seminar On
Next Generation Wireless Concepts & Technologies.
The World Telecommunication Day was
held for the first time in 1969 and is held each year
on 17 May to commemorate the founding of the International
Telecommunication Union (ITU) in 1865. The ITU emphasizes
the attribute of Telecommunication and has changed
the program name to the World Telecommunication and
Information Society Day (WTISD) for 2008.
