Intelligent Transport System (ITS) has been deployed worldwide during the last ten years and has proven to be critical a component in advancing the field of transportation. ITS has improved the way we travel, manage traffic, and transport goods. This conference aims to provide a leading edge forum for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss the most recent research findings, and to promote on-going novel research on ITS service and applications. The conference presentation will be devoted into three major areas of interest: 1) Policy, Standardization & Service Applications in ITS, 2) System for ITS Telecommunications, and 3) Key Technologies for ITS.

AREAS OF INTEREST INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

Policy, Standardization, Service & Application in ITS
o Policy, Social and Institutional ITS issues
o Economics analysis, risk management for safety services (system dependability, reliability, security)
o Architecture, interoperability and standards
o Applications/services (telemetric, active safety, terrestrial, maritime, railway, air, multi-modal, logistics, etc)
o Internet Applications

System for ITS Telecommunications
o Maritime ITS, Ship-to-Ship Communications
o Railways and public transportations
o Systems Global Navigation Satellite System for ITS: Galileo, GPS, GlONASS
o MANET/MONET /MANEMO/AUTOCONF/ NEMO /MIP6 in ITS
o Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs)
o Multimedia broadcasting technologies (TPEG, DVB, WiMax, etc)
o In-Vehicle, Inter-Vehicle and Infrastructure to Vehicle Communications
o On Board Equipment, Embedded Electronics

Key Technologies for ITS
o Software Defined Radio
o Physical layer, RF, and Antenna
o Security and authentication
o Modeling and Simulation
o Sensing technologies and sensor networks
o Testing, verification and diagnosis
o Medium Access Control Schemes
o Human Machine Interaction

GUIDELINES FOR PAPER SUBMISSION

Prospective authors are invited to submit electronically via the conference web site (http://itst2008.nectec.or.th/) a full-length paper (4 pages normally and 6 pages maximum) of their work in .pdf format. The cover page must include: the title of the paper, authors’ names and affiliations, contact author’s name and address (both postal and electronic), keywords and submission area. Detailed instructions for preparing the final papers will be given on the web site. Submission must be unpublished and not currently under review by workshops, conferences or journals. Once a paper has been accepted, at least one author must register in order that the paper is included in the conference proceedings, which will be published by IEEE Press. CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSIONS/DEMONSTRATIONS

The organizing committee invites you to submit proposals for the special sessions and demonstration topics to the conference. Works accepted for presentations and poster sessions of ITST 2008 will be equally represented by academic, industrial and research communities. Maritime ITS systems such as ship-to-ship communications will be demonstrated in the sea of Phuket. Technical exhibitions and demonstrations will be held at a dedicated site. Recognized experts from the ITS community have been invited as keynote speakers and presenters to enrich the program.
