India Council Mailing list

IEEE India Council has an automated mailing list facility. This mailing list is for all those who are interested in IEEE activities in India (even if you do not live in India).

You can send e mail messages to this list which will be broadcast to all subscribers automatically. Conversely, you will receive automatically e mail messages from other subscribers, giving you plenty of useful information.

This is the fastest and most inexpensive way to inform and be informed.

Majordomo is a very-easy-to-use software for automated mailing lists. Send an e mail to:
majordomo@majordomo.ieee.org with the following commands in the body of your e mail (not in subject line):

• To learn how to use the majordomo software, send an e mail with the following two commands in the body of your e mail:
  help
  info india-council
  Put each command on a new line.
  
   
• To subscribe, send an e mail with the following command in the body of your e mail:
  subscribe india-council
  
   
• To unsubscribe, send an e mail with the following command in the body of your e mail:
  unsubscribe india-council
  
   

Watch out:

1. If your mailer software/browser has been programmed to add your "signature" or other material automatically to all outgoing messages, please delete them before sending the above commands to majordomo.
2. All messages sent to the majordomo program will receive an automatic response indicating whether the command worked or not.
3. When you subscribe to this mailing list, you will receive detailed information about this mailing list, automatically.

Watch out: Do NOT send the majorodomo commands described earlier (e.g. subscribe, unsubscribe, help, info etc.), to this address. If you do that:
1. The majordomo commands are broadcast to all subscribers on the mailing list. This will only create unnecessary irritation to the receivers.
2. The commands are not executed since they do not go to majordomo. So you get nothing out of this.

Note:

The India Council mailing list is called india-council, with a - (minus) in the middle. The web site of India Council home page is india_council with a _ (underscrore) in the middle. Unfortunately, it is too late to correct this minor (!) inconsistency.
