Abstract of Achievements Research/ Innovation:
i. Invented Static Three-Phase Simulator.
ii. Developed an energy efficient fan regulator that is absolutely
free from undesirable fan noise and radio interference. The product
is getting ready to go into the market.
iii. Developed a simple and reliable tamper-proof energy metering
system, a novel idea to prevent electricity theft and a patent
has been applied for it. (Patent application No. 982/CHE/2003
dated 02-12-2003). A leading Research organization has already
come forward showing interest to collaborate for work in this
area.
iv. Produced two Ph.D.'s and presently guiding many Ph.D. Research
Scholars.
Awards/ Recognition:
a) Govt. of Kerala Science & Technology Award 1990 for the
best popular science book in Malayalam for the work entitled,
"Oorjathinte Uravidangal Thedi (In search of Energy Sources)"
[The Premier Award in this category].
b) Govt. of Kerala Energy Conservation Award 1997 for the Writer/
Media Person category [The Premier Award in this category].
c)Govt. of Kerala Energy Conservation Award 2004, in the Research
and Innovations category [The Premier Award in this category].
d)Meritorious paper Award-2000 for paper published in the journal
of the Institution of Engineers (India).
e) Best paper Award for the paper presented in the National Conference
on Intelligent and Efficient Electrical Systems (NCIEES-2001),
held at P.S.G. College of Technology, Coimbatore during January
19-20, 2001.

2. Written about 70 articles in popular Malayalam magazines, daily
newspapers and encyclopedias.
3. Book written in Malayalam entitled, "Oorjathinte Uravidangal
Thedi (In Search of Energy Sources)", won the Govt. of Kerala
Science & Technology Award for the best popular science book
in Malayalam in the year 1990. Four editions (1986, 1988, 1990,
1997) have been published totaling to about 25,000 copies.
4. Co-authored three books and three encyclopedias in Malayalam.
5. One book in Malayalam entitled, "Veettinullile Vilapetta
Oorjam (Valuable Energy in Home)", accepted for publication
by the State Resource Centre, Govt. of Kerala.
6. Worked as Editorial Board member of Sasthragathi for two years,
a popular science magazine in Malayalam published by the Kerala
Sasthra Sahithya Parishad (KSSP).
7. Presented about 60 features/ talks in Educational, Science
and related programmes of All India Radio and many TV programmes.
