Lahore GOLD Internship Program
In Pakistan, the relation between the students from universities and the industrial companies is not well established yet. Because of this problem, most of the students do not know so many things about companies, and companies cannot present themselves to students well. To add to this, the recent economic and security situation has further worsened working opportunities of quality human resource coming out from our technical universities.
In order to bridge this gap and make the IEEE membership valuable, Lahore GOLD initiated its Summer Internship Program in 2009 to place IEEE Student Members, GSMs and Young Graduates in various organizations for 6-8 weeks summer internships.
Till the 2009 deadline, we received 26 applicants out of which resumes of 16 members were forwarded as others had incomplete information and were not properly formatted. 12 of these applicants were successfully placed in various organizations and 5 of these students were later offered jobs on project to project basis. This was a great achievement of GOLD Lahore Affinity Group considering that we executed it in a limited time.
We are now planning a networking & career fair for young engineers, professionals and entrepreneurs.
