Important Note Regarding Email Discussion Forum Initiative (power-gtd):
The Chapter has formed an IEEE list-serve email where Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution professionals can share their valuable experiences and learn from each other. In order to get a member of the list, write an email to Mr. Irfan Akhtar who is the moderator for the list. After you become a member, you can send your technical questions at: power-gtd@listserv.ieee.org. And the list members can reply to the email by "reply all" option.
Lecture Series:
The chapter chairman and the entire team intends to hold a series of lectures on Power Engineering and Industrial Applications during the course of this year. In this regard, all the honorable members and guests are requested to give suggestions to the chairman or secretary with proposed topics. We have a strong desire not only to promote our chapter but to raise interest in Power Engineering in young and upcoming professionals and students of Power.
The topics can include the following but are not limited to:
1. Power System Protection Relaying.
2. Power Quality Issues.
3. Transients Modeling of Power System Components / Network through software simulation.
4. Power System Stability issues and their mitigation.
5. Power Transformer failures / faults and their mitigation techniques., etc.
6. Electrical Testing of Power Equipment.
7. Power System Asset Management Solutions.
8. Building Electrical Safety Code Requirements.
9. Power Equipment Insulation Testing.
10. Use of Software / Simulation in Power Studies and Research
etc.
Note:
1. The presentation could be of 30-35 minutes duration made on MS Power Point Slides. It should be submitted to the Chairman for pre-approval in advance. IEEE PES / IAS chapter will form a committee for reviewing the presentations and will have the rights to accept or reject the same.
2. The list of previous lectures / presentations will be made available at the website shortly.
