INTRODUCTION

The 2008 2nd IEEE International Conference on Power and Energy PECon 2008 will be held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on 1–3 December 2008. The previous conference PECon 2006 was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur. This time the conference will be organized to invite international delegates, to “Beautiful and Peaceful Malaysia” to share their latest researches besides getting to know Malaysia.

PECon 2008 will be jointly organized by the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) and IEEE Power Engineering Society (PES) Malaysia Section in collaboration with Faculty of Electrical engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The conference program will feature tutorial, technical paper presentations and technical exhibition. The conference theme is ‘Exploring New Developments in Power and Energy Technologies for Sustainable Development’.

 

OBJECTIVES

The aim of this conference is to provide engineers  and  academia with the  opportunity  to  explore recent development, current practices and future trends  in power and energy. It is hoped that this conference will provide a unique platform for discussing issues and development in electrical power, power electronics and energy along with establishing international relationship and exchanging ideas among the delegates

The objectives of this conference are:

  • To promote research and development activities among power engineering professionals.
     
  • To boost intellectual, creative and innovative thinking among participants.
     
  • To exchange cultural experiences and establish networking among the power researchers and engineers.

 

PARTICIPANTS

All power and energy researchers from research institutions, utility companies and various industries are invited to participate in this conference.
