Welcome to IEEE MTT/EDS/SSCS Penang Chapter, the first IEEE chapter founded in Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone, Penang, Malaysia.

The MTT/ED/SSCS Penang Chapter is responsible for coordinating IEEE activities for the technical and scientific community in both industry and academia in the northern Malaysia region, and mainly focuses on RF/microwave engineering, electron devices, and solid-state circuits.

Please do not hesitate to contact us, if you have any questions, or you want to be on our announcement mailing list, or you would like to present your technical/scientific topics.

Upcoming Events/Annoucement

Chapter Meeting

Technical Talk by Mr. Yoshiyuki Yanagimoto, Agilent Technologies, Japan.

Topic: X-parameters for Nonlinear RF Circuit Design

Abstract: X-parameter is an non-linear extension of S-parameter, which is expected to provide both higher level of insights into non-linear phenomena and greater design efficiency of non-linear circuits. In this presentation, X-parameter will be first introduced in a technical aspect. However, more time is intended to be spent to present how it can be used in the real world. An introduction of a few recent studies on X-parameters will follow and then a short demonstration of the ADS simulation will be shown.

Speaker's Biography: Mr. Yoshiyuki Yanagimoto joined Yokogawa-Hewlett-Packard in 1985, after getting Master's degree of physics at the University of Kyoto, as R&D engineer. For his 19 years contribution in R&D, he has designed the synthesizer portion of HP3588A spectrum analyzer, hardware leader of HP4396A Network/Spectrum analyzer, project leader of HP5022A Hard Disk Head Test System, and program manager of E5052A Signal Source Analyzer, before he becoming R&D section and marketing manager in 2005. Currently, he is focus on the development of Nonlinear Network Analysis solution as Business Development Manager of Component Test Division in Agilent Technologies.

Date : 14th, July 2009.

Time : 7.15pm, refreshment and networking start at 6.30pm

Venue: RF and Microwave Lab, Penang Skill Development Center, Penang.
