City buzz - what's happening in Singapore?

Evening Activities

Specific evening activities will largely depend upon which shows are being held in theaters in the country at the time of the conference and at this juncture specific details are not available.  Within a few minutes walk of the Raffles City Convention Center is the newest performing arts center in Asia, the world class Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay.  From its indoor performance spaces to its outdoor venues, Esplanade offers the opportunity to enjoy a total lifestyle experience, from the performing arts to shopping, dining and other forms of cultural entertainment.

It is always possible to enjoy the unique experience of eating the way the locals do at Bugis Street.  After savoring a local dinner, take a stroll along the night market or pasar malam and you may chance upon bargains you have never imagined.  Next could be a drive past the Esplanade for a glimpse of the Merlion before stopping at Chinatown to browse at the night scene.  Finally, we head for the famous Raffles Hotel for a sample of Singapore’s very own concoction, "The Singapore Sling".  As the saying goes: "If you have not been to Raffles you have not been to Singapore".

A special evening is always available for delegates at the tropical island of Sentosa with its the musical water fountains.  A quiet alfresco dinner with friends under a balmy tropical sky will complete the evening.
