The IEEE AP-S Tainan Chapter (APSTNC) was initiated by a preparatory committee and formally formed 2004. The history of the chapter is listed as following:

July 2003: Call for petition
Nov. 2003: Petition submitted
April 2004: Approval received for Tainan Chapter
December 2004: Prof. Wen-Shyang Chen was elected as the Chapter Chair

December 2006: Prof. Hong-Twu Chen was elected as the Chapter Chair

June 2007: Tainan Chapter was selected as the "2006 APS Best Chapter"

The Chapter's boundaries include Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung and Pingtun. IEEE AP-S Members who reside in the area are automatically recognized as members of IEEE AP-S Tainan Chapter. In cooperation with the Advisory Committee and the Chapter Officers, the IEEE AP-S Tainan Chapter has become a solid organization with commitments, credibility, involvement, and enthusiasm for people throughout the Antennas and Propagation Community in Taiwan.
