meeting minutes approved.
- Guest Speaker: Jim Watson, Coordinator of Student Professional Awareness Committee (SPAC) spoke about the Region 2 student activities. The final message is to build partnerships between Section/Chapters and Student branches. Along with Janet Hill, Support Coordinator Annapolis, Baltimore, Delaware areas SPAC, they presented details of the Region Diamond Program IEEE-USA.
- Randy indicated that he attended the AES and PES meetings.
- There was motion to purchase Adobe Pagemaker software (approved).
- Not everyone has submitted their meeting and financial reports. We need them ASAP to get the Section Rebate for our 2000 operating expenses. If we meet the deadline in February, the Section will get additional rebate (10%?).
- There was discussion on 2000 proposed Section budget (approved).
- There was motion to void an AD bill from a potential advertiser since his AD did not get published in time (approved).
- There was some discussion on the purchase of computers for the IMTC/2000 conference, rent them to the society, and then donate them to the student chapters. This will be voted on in January meeting. Chris will provide a more detailed report at that time.
- Neville reported that the Robot challenge is on April 22 which coincides with Easter week. So, there will be a mini-challenge on Arpril 16 as well (2 days). Volunteers needed.
- In addition, a $75.00 payment for an AD to be included in the Robot project program was approved.
- Dave Stevens is soliciting information for the next issue of the Watt's New newsletter. Need them ASAP to meet our publication deadline. This includes a listing of the 2000 Officers/Directors, Upcoming Meetings, etc.
- Chapter Chairs or designated representatives reported on their specific Chapter activities.
- Finally, John Dentler reported on the results of the 2000 ballots. (No written copy for distribution was available).
