GOAL
As part of IEEE's Senior Member Program, this program
calls on Section
and Society members to work together as a group to identify
and nominate
qualified Members for Senior Member grade. This initiative
aims to:
- Simplify
the application process
- Offer
financial incentives for approved Senior Member applications
- Offer
increased benefits for Senior Members
METRICS
- In
2001, we elevated 1,515 Senior Members.
- Out
of the 814 nominations submitted, 788 resulted
in successful
elevations to Senior Member Grade.
- 425
nominations came from Sections and 363 from Societies.
- Total
cash award of US$7,880 has been earned by 133 participating
Sections and 36 Societies including Women in Engineering.
- In
2002, we hope to meet a goal of 1,750 Senior Members.
SENIOR
MEMBER NOMINATION LETTER
In an effort to facilitate and assist Sections and Societies
in this initiative,
a standard letter is available that can be used
by nominators to provide
information about the Senior Member application and nomination
process.
The Senior Member Nomination Letter
is an electronic document that
can be customized and forwarded as an email attachment
to the
prospective nominee.
