GOAL
As part of IEEE's Senior Member Program, this program calls on Section
and Society members to work together as a group to identify and nominate
qualified Members for Senior Member grade. This initiative aims to:

  • Simplify the application process
  • Offer financial incentives for approved Senior Member applications
  • Offer increased benefits for Senior Members

METRICS

  • In 2001, we elevated 1,515 Senior Members.
  • Out of the 814 nominations submitted, 788 resulted in successful
    elevations to Senior Member Grade.
  • 425 nominations came from Sections and 363 from Societies.
  • Total cash award of US$7,880 has been earned by 133 participating
Sections and 36 Societies including Women in Engineering.
  • In 2002, we hope to meet a goal of 1,750 Senior Members.

SENIOR MEMBER NOMINATION LETTER
In an effort to facilitate and assist Sections and Societies in this initiative,
a standard letter is available that can be used by nominators to provide
information about the Senior Member application and nomination process.
The Senior Member Nomination Letter is an electronic document that
can be customized and forwarded as an email attachment to the
prospective nominee.
