ABSTRACT: In a follow-up from his talk last year on basic
web development, Ken Baum will give a brief overview of Drupal, one of
the most successful and popular of the open source Content Management
Systems. After going over the basics of Drupal, Ken will demonstrate the
system by installing Drupal and creating a simple website.
BIO: Ken Baum is a Senior .NET Developer in the Risk Analysis
division of LexisNexis, a provider of online tools for legal and business
clients. He has over 20 years of development experience in every aspect
of software development, from desktop applications to embedded systems.
He has a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the Air Force Institute
of Technology. For the past four years he has dabbled in Drupal, developing
several sites for churches and non-profits. Ken lives in Dayton with Margie,
his wife of 39 years. When he's not developing, he is reading, writing,
running, and spoiling his eight grandchildren.
