You are invited to attend and
to learn about topics of interest to process improvement professionals
in the Dayton area. Involvement with the Dayton SPIN is a great
opportunity to interact with other software engineering, systems
engineering and process improvement professionals in your community.

IEEE Virtual Museum Continues To Gain Visitors
& Praise
DACW Lunch Bunch first Thursday
of each month
Designed to teach the general public and particularly
the pre-university crowd.about IEEE technologies and their
social and historical importance, the IEEE Virtual Museum
(VM), which opened in 2002, continues to draw thousands of
users monthly and to attract critical praise. The newest exhibit,
Women & Technology, opened in June 2003 to rave reviews. The
two most recent awards for the VM were to be named one of
the .Best Sites for Kids. by the prestigious American Library
Association and to make PC Magazine.s “Top 101” list. PC Magazine
named the IEEE VM one of the “Top 101 Most Incredibly Useful
Sites” of 2003. The museum was among the eight sites chosen
in the “Computing . Everyone “ category. The review called
it a “fascinating, engaging, image- and infographic-laden
site” where “you’ll discover the stories behind your favorite
electrical engineering marvels.” For more information on the

DACW Lunch Bunch
Dayton Adovates for Computing Women (DACW)
plans informal Lunch Bunches on the first Thursday of each month.
Take this chance to get out of the office and join us. No special
presentation - just a chance to meet with other technical women
and share experiences, problems, stress of your day, etc. We
meet at Fairfield Mall Food Court (in the area between Hagen

The Dayton chapter of the Black Data Processing
Associates (BDPA) will be hosting its monthly Program meeting
on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. The meeting, which
begins promptly at 6:30 pm, will be held at Urban League in
the United Way Building located at 184 Salem Avenue just across
the Salem Avenue Bridge from Downtown Dayton. This meeting serves
to introduce our organization of information technology professionals
organization to the greater Dayton community. You will network
with our membership and learn more about our local chapter programs,
services and community outreach efforts. BDPA serves as an invaluable
conduit between information technology (IT) and African-American
communities. Through more than forty local chapters across the
country, BDPA offers career counseling, technological assistance,
networking opportunities, workshops, computer competitions and
more to adults, college students, high school students and others.
Are you eager to join the information age? If so, then you need
to make plans to attend this monthly program meeting! Attendance
is open to the public and and everyone is welcome. Refreshments
