NOMINATIONS FOR RUSS BIO-ENGINEERING AWARD

Nominations for the Dr. Fritz J. Russ Bio-Engineering Award are being accepted by the Dayton Section IEEE. The Dr. Fritz J. Russ Bio-Engineering Award is presented annually to an outstanding candidate who has made significant contributions in research, development, teaching or management furthering the objectives of Bio-Engineering in the Dayton area for a minimum of 3 years, and who is a member of the Dayton Section IEEE with at least Member grade. 

Bio-Engineering covers the physical and engineering sciences in biology and medicine, ranging from formalized mathematical theory through experimental science and technological development to practical clinical applications. The award consists of an individual plaque, Awardee’s name added to a perpetual plaque and a monetary award.  

The presentation will be made at the Dayton Section IEEE Annual Awards Banquet in Spring. The awardee, his/her spouse and two guests, the nominator of the awardee, and the nominators’ spouse will be guests of Dayton Section IEEE at the Awards Banquet for the presentation. Deadline for receipt of nominations is 1 Mar 2012. The form at the bottom of this page may be used to nominate a candidate. Additional pages may be attached where more space is needed. 


NOMINATIONS FOR HARRELL V. NOBLE AWARD

The Dayton Section IEEE is accepting nominations for the 2012 Harrell V Noble Award. This annual award is given to an outstanding candidate who has made significant contributions to the research, development, and/or application of electronic devices or in education, or management in the area of electronic devices.

The modern term of electronic devices should be viewed to include nano / micro and photonic devices or structures, mixed-signal integrated circuits, modeling, simulation, interface and/or performance evaluation studies, computer analysis and synthesis of distributed network systems.”

The nominee must be a member of the Dayton Section IEEE. The awardee will receive a plaque and a monetary award from a fund donated by the late Dr. Harrell V. Noble and the Dayton Section.

The presentation will be made at the Dayton Section IEEE Annual Awards Banquet in the spring. The awardee, his/her spouse and two guests, the nominator of the winner and the nominator’s spouse will be the guests of Dayton Section at the awards banquet for the presentation.
