IEEE/ISA Joint Meeting
Industrial Ethernet and Communication Technologies
Joe Baker of ISA arranged for Mark Fondl to originally speak to us on January 27, but the meeting was cancelled when a sudden ice storm shut down Delaware.
Mark covered the current protocols and equipment for communications systems available to industrial manufacturing plants for process control, including ethernet systems. Mark also followed the development of industrial network systems, starting with the simple RS232 up to the present day. He said the next big push in industrial systems is wireless networks.
