IEEE Xtreme 24-hour Computer Programming Competition at University of Delaware
October 21-22, 2011

UD Computer Programming Team Finishes First Place in the Mid Atlantic Region
Twenty four hours without sleep was a challenging quest for the two UD teams competed in international 2011 twenty four hour Xtreme computer programming competition, sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. 

The undergraduate student team consisting of Eric McGraw, Stephen Orlando and Chris Kerwien finished 121 out of 1515 teams competing. They took first place in the USA Region 2. Eric and Stephen had also competed last year. 

The graduate student team consisting of Sha Li and Murat Bolat finished 158 out of 1515 teams competing. They took 22nd place in USA region 2. 

Adjunct Professor Dave Young was the Proctor for both teams. 

Congratulations to both teams! 

It is interesting to note that USA only had 227 teams.
