GOLD Nominations!! PDF Print E-mail

Members of The Johnstown Section GOLD (graduates of the last decade) Affinity Group are requested  to participate in the annual Johnstown GOLD Officer elections.  This is your oppurtunity to provide input to determine who will serve on the IEEE Johnstown GOLD Leadership Team for the calendar year January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010.

 

The IEEE Johnstown GOLD nomintating committee is reaching out to Members of the GOLD Affinity Group to identify officer candidates for the 2010 elections.  GOLD Officer Nominations are open for the following positions:  Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary.

 

IEEE GOLD Member interested in serving as an IEEE Johnstown GOLD officer may submit their nominations by petition.  The petitions must be signed by three or more voting Members (voting Members are Graduate Student Member, Member, Senior Member, or Fellow grades whom are current members whom live in the geographic region (Johnstown Section)) and must be received by the Johnstown Section no later than midnight on November 15, 2009.

 

Mr. Ed Brandau and Dr. Bill Wieserman have volunteered to participate as the Nominations Committee.

Engineers - Teachers Training Session: Volunteers Needed PDF Print E-mail

The IEEE Educational Activities Board (EAB), along with the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), is hosting a Teacher In-Service Program Train the Trainer Workshop in Pittsburgh, PA on 23-24 October 2009 at the NETL facilities.  The goal of the workshop is to provide the attendees with tips, tools, and strategies for conducting professional development sessions with teachers in primary, middle, and high schools.  The workshop lasts one and a half days and is free for IEEE members, NETL employees, and invited educators.

Reminder to Submit Nominations

 

Members of the Johnstown Section of the IEEE are requested to participate in the annual Section Officer elections.  This year is your oppurtunity to provide input to determine who will serve on the IEEE Johnstown Section Executive Committee (EXCOM) for the calendar year January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010.

In commemoration of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday on October 2009, IEEE GOLD is pleased to announce a special webinar, "Gandhian Engineering," presented by the renowned Dr. R.A. Mashelkar.

Mashelkar has played a critical role in shaping India's science and technology poloicies.
