Meeting Information

"Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs - Legislation and Technology"

Federal legislation and regulations have established schedules for a ban on the manufacture and eventual distribution of incandescent lamps.   The primary reason is energy conservation.  Although CFL’s are energy efficient , they are more costly than the traditional bulbs and are not suitable for some applications but the longer life offsets the marginal cost.   Industry and consumers alike must make strategic adjustments to accommodate the new technology.  Industry is quickly designing and producing more suitable CFL’s for residential, commercial and industrial applications.  The consumer needs to be informed to make intelligent purchase decisions.   To address these matters we have arranged for two speakers : one to describe the legislative aspects and the other to explain the developing technology for CFL’s and beyond.   A display will be provided.  Members and their guests are welcome.   No cost but please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
